Community Cinema: Films playing in and around Northern Utah neighborhoods

Did you catch an outdoor flick last week and want more? Did the showings not fit into your schedule? Are you intolerant of the heat outside?

Here are this week’s chances to watch a movie with your neighbors in the great outdoors, plus a few films at cool libraries. All screenings are free.

Free Friday Films in Layton — After the farmers market Layton F.E.S.T., catch “Cool Runnings,” the Disney film about the Jamaican bobsled team, on the LED screen, 7 p.m. Friday, July 27, Kenley Amphitheater, 403 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton.

Movies on the Mountain — Bring the family to the mountain for “Coco” on the big screen. Kids activities begin at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, Snowbasin Resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, Huntsville. Film starts at dusk.

Brigham City’s Movies in the Park — Watch Disney’s “Moana” on a baseball diamond, dusk Monday, July 30, Rees Pioneer Park, 800 W. Forest St., Brigham City.

Monday Night Movies — Catch “Coco” on the LED screen with surround sound, 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, Ogden Amphitheater, 343 25th St., Ogden.

Main Library — Watch “Wonder” at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, Weber County Main Library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden.

North Branch — Catch up with the kids of fairytale couples in “The Descendents 2,” 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 475 E. 2600 North, North Ogden. 

Ogden Valley Branch — See the old favorite “The Princess Bride,” 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 131 S. 7400 East, Huntsville.

Pleasant Valley Branch — The original “Annie” plays at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, and the recent blockbuster “Black Panther” shows at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 5568 Adams Ave., Ogden.  

Southwest Branch — Bring pony lovers to watch “My Little Pony: The Movie,” noon Monday, July 30, 2039 W. 4000 South, Roy.
